Pricing Update
We periodically review and adjust our pricing structure for things we charge for. As such, here are the print pricing changes that go into effect August 27th, 2026

Workstations
All graduate workstations have been upgraded to:
- Dell Pro Max Tower T2
- Intel Core Ultra 7 265K (3.3 GHz to 5.5 Ghz)
- Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 12GB
- 64GB DDR5 ram
- 1TB Gen5 PCIe NVME SSD
This upgrade allows you to continue to have the horsepower you need at your desk for local rendering, AI, and other intensive applications.
New Wood Kern Laser Cutter
The Fabrication Shop team will be commissioning a new Kern laser cutter for cutting wood this week. Here are the specs:
- Kern OptiFlex
- Cutting bed: 50" x 52"
- 500W
- CO2 Laser
The Fabrication Shop is also implementing a new charging system for both Kern laser cutters that will charge for time instead of per job. These charges will no longer be automatic, rather you will be responsible for billing yourself in Woodcut like all other shop purchases.
New Draft plotter and wide scanner
We are still waiting for these devices to arrive. The new Draft plotter will replace our oldest model and will match the latest model of our other Draft plotter.
The new wide format scanner will replace our aged out model and should give you another great option for scanning.
Artificial Intelligence
We built out our AI section on our website to include some resources that are available to you and some new resources like introductory information about MCP and ComfyUI.
As a part of the school’s AI Framework, there will be weekly AI lunch sessions that will cover different aspects of the AI conversation. Keep an eye on The Weekly Sketch for more details.
New microphone system in SB Advanced Computer Lab
We have installed a new microphone system in the SB Advanced Computer Lab similar to what is available in Room 322. This system will allow for better audio coverage and quality when recording sessions.
New LCD carts for 6th floor back pit
Two new LCD carts which match the specs of all others in the school have been added to this new space for exclusive use there.
