Martin Finio
Martin Finio founded IN STUDIO in 2023 as a continuation of Christoff:Finio Architecture, the internationally acclaimed firm he co-founded in 1999. Based in New York City, he and his studio have delivered award-winning projects for institutions, non-profits, public agencies, universities, and private clients.
His work has won several prestigious awards, including American Architecture Awards for Bennington College Commons (2021) and Four Points House (2024), as well as an AIANY Honor Award for Bennington (2021). He was named to Architectural Record’s Design Vanguard (2004), selected for the Architectural League’s Emerging Voices (2005), and received the Arts and Letters Award in Architecture from the American Academy of Arts and Letters (2014). His projects have been widely exhibited, including at the National Building Museum in Washington, D.C., the Venice Biennale, and the Aedes Gallery in Berlin.
Before founding his own firm, Martin spent nearly a decade at Tod Williams Billie Tsien Architects, where he worked on the Cranbrook Natatorium, the Neurosciences Institute in La Jolla, and the Hunter Science Center at Emma Willard School. He also co-founded the engineering firm Hatfield Group in 2018. Martin is a Fellow of the American Institute of Architects.
