Project Description

The project took the proposed architectural concepts and developed technical systems through structural, mechanical, and envelope design. To preserve the initial concept the building’s exterior is enclosed by a transparent curtain wall while the interior is marked by an opaque volume and open office spaces. The opaque volume holds program that is inaccessible to the public while the office spaces remain transparent behind glazing. Using large trusses and cantilevered floor plates, the steel framing lets the opaque volume “float”. On the southwest facade of the building sun-shading devices integral to the curtain wall denote the interior programs.
