Project Description

In order to provide a closer connection to nature while increasing the tower’s density, this project internalizes pockets of space within the exterior form of the existing tower. The resulting open-air voids become private courtyards for each unit and penetrate the expanded floor plate with air and light. While the plan remains incredibly dense, each unit remains close to nature and open space. At the top of the building, each void merges into a single open exterior space in the center. A façade of louvres provides optimal shading while changing the texture of what is clearly an addition in the daytime to porosity at night.
