Project Description

Cantilevered as if to invite users inside, this public urban branch library creates a notion of gathering and communal space within an urban environment. A central reading room comprises the core, with an elevated roof-terrace nested directly above. Circulatory space winds around the perimeter of the building, exhibiting a translucent textile material and allowing the structure to project itself onto the building envelope. This translucency is mimicked in the drawing style employed for the axonometric and orthographic drawings.
