Title

Incubator 495

Authors
Claire Haugh

Course

Project Description

Scattered across Lowell are playful moments that bridge and infill gaps in the urban fabric. Within these playful moments, the city comes alive. Incubator 495 utilizes this existing typology of intervention in a series of maker spaces, live/work units and temporary pavilions. The network will form a collective of digital manufacturing startups that will design and construct the many interventions across the site acting as a test bed and exhibition of new ideas. Incubator 495 will spread incrementally outwards across the city and into New England, acting as a model for other mill towns needing an injection of modern manufacturing.
