Project Description

The project for the district of South of Market (SoMa) proposes work and live spaces that prioritize shared space. The ground level comprises a loose work space, and caters to the workaholic culture that exists in the tech industry dominant in this area. Above, communal housing offers an array of unscripted units and generous opportunity for repose and shared activity. Deploying an ethos of the collective within both the working and living environment, the project challenges traditional notions of domestic space.
