Ascension
Project Description
An ascension is reframed four times. Be it through perspectival distortion or a simple upwards shift, the beginning of a path is documented. Yet this path invariably stops short of a distinct space, revealing a series of false starts rather than continuous motion. Though this room is never truly shown, its presence is informed by incompletes: a sliver of solid ground, a corner, a tightly-framed square view that defines its scale. In an otherwise chaotic journey, this space is intriguing because it is unknown; an implicit destination –a pause.
