Project Description

The Pawsox belong in Pawtucket.

We believe relocating the stadium to Historic Downtown will enable the Pawsox to connect and be a part of the existing cultural context while restoring the site back to the heart of Pawtucket. The new location with its proximity to the Pawtucket River opens up a number of opportunities for riverfront development, to restore the city’s once industrial activity and relationship to the waterfront. This would enable the baseball park to become a catalyst for a new urban growth center where the park would act in conjunction with a proposed Transit Oriented Development to regenerate Downtown Pawtucket into a vibrant mixed-used district. Pawtucket Park is oriented in a way where prevailing views are given towards the city skyline, enabling a porous edge that engages the riverfront.
