Weaving Memories, Building Meanings: Finding A New Sacred For Heritage Sites

Project Description

Situated within the Castillo ruins, a project is conceived to provide Palazzolo Acreide, a town of historical importance to ancient Greek theater, with a theater village, essentially serving as the city’s backstage. The project plans to establish artist residency spaces specifically for theater professionals, a satellite campus for the INDA Foundation, and facilities for rehearsal and accommodation for participants in the Palazzolo Acreide International Festival of Young Classical Theater. The development aims not only to rejuvenate the region’s rich theatrical heritage but also to create a dynamic center for contemporary theatrical arts, fostering a symbiotic relationship between historical legacy and modern artistic expression.
